Bishop Museum

The Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Bishop Museum, and the Peabody Essex Museum are part of an exciting new program bringing together the three culturally diverse yet historically linked communities of Alaska, Hawai‘i, and Salem. These museums, located at the far corners of the country, represent a broad spectrum of American history and cultures, but share common values and goals. The Alaska Native Heritage Center perpetuates, celebrates, and shares Alaska's Native traditions; the Bishop Museum records, preserves, and tells the stories of Hawai‘i and the Pacific, inspiring visitors to embrace and experience the natural and cultural world; and the Peabody Essex Museum documents New England's dialogue with world communities and celebrates human creativity. Together, these museums have created a model partnership devoted to celebrating community identity, nurturing diversity, and maintaining positive cross-cultural conversations.
